ASU Catalyst Fund helping to push technology into the marketplace

An investment fund designed to grow emerging technologies at Arizona State University has launched with the hope that a little money can go a long way.

The $500,000 ASU Catalyst Fund is managed by Arizona Technology Enterprises, the school’s tech transfer arm, and is intended to act as a way to accelerate development of ASU-created technology and move it toward the marketplace.

AzTE Chief Executive Peter Slate said the fund predominately is designed to spend on prototyping and proof of concept for ideas that already are being researched but lack funds to continue.
