Governor Schweitzer says Judith Gap wind farm is just the beginning in Montana

The Judith Gap Wind Energy Center is just the start of alternative energy development in Montana, Gov. Brian Schweitzer told a large and enthusiastic audience during a dedication ceremony Friday at the wind farm south of Judith Gap.

Schweitzer said he hopes the success of the Judith Gap wind farm will lead to other wind farms in Montana, as well as to the building of ethanol plants. Along with that, the governor said he hopes new clean technology will encourage the building of coal-fired generation plants.

After Schweitzer announced his determination to put Montana in the energy-producing business, the crowd greeted his suggestions with enthusiastic applause.
