Cambridge firm wants to transcend the print medium
E Ink Corp. of Cambridge wants to take the paper out of the newspaper.
Black print on a flexible white background remains an unbeatable medium for exchanging information. But why should you have to throw the paper out when you’re done reading?
E Ink’s experimental solution: a flexible display that looks and feels like paper, but has changeable print. The company has dubbed it RadioPaper.
”Regardless of what consumer electronics companies will tell you, the highest and best format for reading is still black and white," said Darren Bischoff, senior marketing manager. ”With our display, you could have multiple updates a day or maybe real-time information."
