Libby Downtown Revitalization Strategic Plan Adopted

On Monday night, the Libby City Council voted to adopt the recently completed Libby Downtown Revitalization Strategic Plan and Mineral Avenue Streetscape Master Plan, a project led by Libby Revitalization Inc. (LRI). LRI is a nonprofit corporation modeled on the National Main Street program. The Strategic Plan is available online at the following address:

Many organizations, agencies, business owners, and individuals were involved in the development of this Strategic Plan, which takes a collaborative, market-driven approach to helping Libby recover from devastating job losses and asbestos contamination. The Plan links the recovery of Downtown Libby to economic gains in the broader economy of the Kootenai River Valley and Lincoln County, including value-added wood/agricultural products, entrepreneurship development, specialty manufacturing, and tourism.

The economy of Libby is beginning to return, but there is much work to do, and technical and funding resources are needed to help achieve the strategic initiatives detailed in the Plan. Any insights, advice or assistance that you can provide would greatly help Libby achieve its potential and return to economic vitality with a vibrant Downtown district.
