BT Targets Wireless Competitors With Mobile-To-Fixed Phone

Has the "go-anywhere" telephone finally arrived?
In an effort to wrest share back from aggressive wireless competitors, BT recently launched what is billed as the world’s first cellular phone that combines fixed and mobile networks. Dubbed "BT Fusion," the system functions as a mobile device outside the home, but switches seamlessly to a BT broadband line when the user returns home. The phone uses Bluetooth technology to access the wired network.
