New center will promote leadership in regional economic development in Tennessee

Tennessee communities will be able to share their best economic development practices and receive additional training from the new Tennessee Leadership Center http://www.tennesseeleadershipcenter.com, which was recently created by the state’s Department of Economic and Community Development.

The center is at the BellSouth Economic Development Center in the BellSouth Building, 333 Commerce St., and is headed by David Kolzow, who brings more than 30 years of economic development experience to the position.

The center is an outgrowth of the state’s revamped Three-Star Program, which promotes strategic job growth and retention.

Kolzow acknowledged larger communities like Nashville have more resources available than small towns. “On a regional basis, they might be able to help the smaller communities,” he said.
