Venture Capital: Frazier Technology ‘on the move’ in Seattle

But the Seattle venture capital firm, which was carved out of Frazier Healthcare Ventures in 2000 to focus on software, communications and wireless companies, is starting to raise its profile in the Pacific Northwest.

Today, it plans to announce that former RealNetworks Chief Financial Officer Paul Bialek — a 45-year-old technology veteran who previously held the CFO title at Edmark and Metapath Software — has joined the firm as its fourth general partner. It also plans to announce the lead role in an $8 million investment for OnRequest Images, a Seattle company that matches advertising agencies and corporate marketing departments with customized images from a network of 1,600 professional photographers.

"We are on the move," said Frazier Technology’s Len Jordan, who worked with Bialek at RealNetworks and just this week offered a term sheet to an undisclosed Seattle-area startup. "We are aggressively finding and pursuing new companies and we are excited about the ones we have."
