Omega TV calls it quits in Montana
The owner of Omega Television, the cable television network that has covered high school and some college sports in Montana for six years, says he is pulling the plug on the operation.
“I hate to do it, but I guess I’m the responsible party,” Steve Dee, owner of Omega Television, told the Great Falls Tribune. “It’s tough doing business in Montana.”
Dee’s Helena-based network, which originated in 1999 as a weekly series sponsored by the Montana Power Co., televised several hundred live high school and college sports events. It was available throughout the state via cable television.
Omega merged with the Montana Sports Programming Network this fall, and plans were announced to air a variety of prep and Frontier Conference football games.
