Colstrip working to lure businesses - ‘‘The Virtual Tour of Colstrip, Montana, Tomorrow's Town Today,''
| September 6, 2005 |
A 26-year-old Colstrip native has developed a promotional compact disc to be used in pitching the southeastern Montana community to businesses, tourists and potential residents.
‘‘It's my hometown, but it's also a great town,'' Joel Vetsch said. ‘‘There's a lot of stories here when you peel back the layers.''
The CD, basically a Web site on a disc, was commissioned by the Southeastern Montana Development Corp. as a marketing tool. It is filled with video footage, still photographs and text that delve into every aspect of the community of 2,300 people, from recreation and history to education and the economy.
‘‘I think we're going to hit a home run with it,'' said Jim Atchison, executive director of the development corporation.
The CD, titled ‘‘The Virtual Tour of Colstrip, Montana, Tomorrow's Town Today,'' took 10 months to produce and should be available for distribution sometime this month.
