MSU noted in latest U.S. News magazine ranking

Montana State University is ranked again among the top universities in the nation in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2006 annual college guide and rankings released recently.

Several magazines rank the nation’s colleges and universities. However, U.S. News & World Report’s annual ranking is one of the best-known and is based on a variety of information, including location, financial aid, value of tuition versus quality of school, and type of institution.

Montana State was among the top 180 universities in the country, according to the magazine. Several other universities in the Rocky Mountain region, including the University of Montana, are also in the third tier of national universities. The third tier includes schools ranked from 125 through 180, listed by alphabetical area.
