New two-year college program introduced in Montana

The momentum for Montana’s two-year college programs is on the rise, and as the state legislature showed in funding support during the last session. This week, a new program was introduced to bring attention to the opportunities available through two-year college programs.

Funded by the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education, mtfastereducation.com was launched as a unified identity to link parents, students and counselors to the options at Montana’s 17 colleges with two-year programs. "Too often, parents or counselors overlook the possibilities available for associate degrees," said Arlene Parisot, Director of Workforce Development Two-Year Education for the Montana University System. "Students need to know that we have two-year program graduates earning salaries comparable to four-year degree holders. These students are also more likely to stay and work in the state."
