Lack of child care in Manhattan, Montana underscores larger dilemma

In July, the wader manufacturer held a meeting in Manhattan to determine if people there would be interested in working for Simms at a satellite office the company would build in town.

Representatives of Child Care Connections — a nonprofit, child-care referral agency — surveyed the attendees and determined a significant number of them needed or expected to need child care services in the future, Linda Reinhart, executive director, said.
