Planting the seeds – The SBIR Program in Wyoming

Maybe it comes as a dream, or it’s just an idea rolling around in your head, and a peculiar notion about bentonite paint.

You play with the idea, and then experiment, trying different concoctions until you hit upon a material that is durable and extremely slippery when wet. So slippery, in fact, that an object’s drag through water is reduced significantly.

Perhaps the U.S. Navy would find your slick paint useful on ships, or for making submarines more stealthy and efficient to operate. But how do you go about finding out? How do you turn your idea into a commercial reality?

One program entrepreneurs can use to help kick-start the process is the Wyoming SBIR/STTR Initiative, also referred to as WSSI.
