Logistic Systems, Inc (Missoula) Announces Release of a Fully Integrated ESRI Computer Aided Dispatch Solution

Logistic Systems, Inc. (LogiSYS) http://www.logistic-systems.com/ has announced at the ESRI International User Conference the release of its Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) solution that utilizes ESRI files natively in its integrated mapping display.

The product named NorthStar, allows Public Safety professionals to have at their fingertips, information that has previously been unavailable in Emergency Communications Centers. Information such as power, sewer, and water lines not traditionally seen as important can now be made available when needed by simply selecting a map layer for display.

This simple function provides Dispatchers better data to make more informed decisions. Other information typically seen only in the planning department or assessor’s office can now be made instantly available by utilizing the ESRI Enterprise software solution, ArcSDE.

The fully integrated mapping system gives users the ability to maintain their mapping system using industry standard ESRI GIS tools. Historically there has been a disconnect between 911 centers and the GIS departments at a city or county level. The release of the NorthStar solution allows public safety professionals to concentrate on Public Safety responsibilities while leaving the maintenance of GIS systems to their GIS counterparts.

“This integration is a definite divergence in the former LogiSYS business model” says Steve Hoover a LogiSYS VP. “While our proprietary mapping products have helped us keep pace with the industry, our ESRI partnership combined with our GIS and Public Safety experience will definitely set our products apart from the competition.” The fully integrated CAD system will provide the Public Safety sector with a solution that does not require GIS conversion, allows the GIS professionals to maintain the mapping data, and provides the tools necessary to leverage industry standard GIS products from the #1 GIS software provider, ESRI.
