A Missoula nonprofit has received a $350,000 federal grant to develop a high-tech, mobile radio communication device with XM Satellite Radio and a small group of Montana companies.
The principals in the project are Inland Northwest Space Alliance http://www.inwspace.org/ and XM, which have teamed up to demonstrate the potential for XM radios to be used for mobile communication in remote areas. Inland will hold a first-responder field test near Philipsburg in September, said chief executive officer George Bailey.
