Meridian, Idaho makes Money's top 100 places to live list

Low crime rate, good schools among reasons
Meridian city leaders have worked for years to escape the image as Boise's bedroom community, and now the city is getting recognition on its own.
In an issue being sent to subscribers this week, Money magazine ranks Meridian as No. 74 on its list of 100 best places in the nation to live in 2005.
The magazine evaluated towns with a population of at least 14,000 with above-median household income, population growth and real estate appreciation over the past five years. Then the magazine looked at other factors like school quality, safety, recreation, arts and crime, housing affordability, taxes, environment and commute times.
