John Frick expects none of his three boys to go into his line of work.

The money may be good in venture capital, but you’ve got to have the stomach for it.

"You’ve got to have the temperament for it and the passion," said Frick, who is with Chisholm Private Capital Partners LLC, the state’s largest venture capital firm.

"It’s a very satisfying and interesting way to earn a living. But most people don’t like the ambiguity involved or the time and risk involved. It’s not for everybody."

But for those few venture capitalists who earn a living at it in Oklahoma, it’s a business like no other.
