Oklahoma man, Steven North tabbed for Great Falls Development Authority marketing post

An Oklahoma man has agreed to become a top marketing official for the Great Falls Development Authority, while the agency has decided not to fill a vacant finance position.

The GFDA executive board Thursday approved the hiring of Steven North as the agency’s vice president of marketing.

North, currently the director of economic development for the Chamber of Commerce in Stillwater, Okla., has verbally accepted the job, said John Kramer, the GFDA president.

North was selected from a field of 15 to 20 applicants and was one of four or five interviewed by phone. He visited Great Falls recently and met with GFDA board members and others.

"I was very impressed," said Owen Robinson, the GFDA board chairman. "I think he’s going to be great."
