Dan Kemmis takes on new role at Center for the Rocky Mountain West – Larry Swanson taking over as new Director

Dan Kemmis will step down as director of the O’Connor Center for the Rocky Mountain West at the University of Montana http://crmw.org/ , effective July 1.

Kemmis will become a senior fellow at the regional think tank, a position also held by former U.S. Rep. Pat Williams and former Secretary of State Bob Brown.

Taking over as director of the O’Connor Center will be Larry Swanson, now the associate director and regional economy associate.

In a written statement Wednesday, Kemmis said he has wanted to pass on the director’s duties to a colleague for several years.

Swanson Takes Charge at Center for the Rocky Mountain West

We’re happy to see the official announcement today that Larry Swanson is taking over as the director of the Center for the Rocky Mountain West come next week. We like Dan Kemmis and he’s certainly done a great job in mkaing the Center an authority on regional issues. When it comes to many of the concrete issues relating to growth and change in the Rocky Mountain West, though, it’s all about economics, and on when it comes to economics all roads lead to Larry Swanson.
