Micron gives BSU $320,000 challenge grant – Money will go to engineering doctoral program

The Micron Technology Foundation on Tuesday gave $320,000 to Boise State University to help establish a doctoral program in electrical and computer engineering.

"I’m excited. This new doctoral program demonstrates to the people of Idaho that Boise State is a premiere research university," BSU President Bob Kustra said.

"High-tech employers in Idaho have very sophisticated employees who need access to more education to stay competitive," Kustra added.

BSU Provost Sona Andrews said the $320,000 Micron gift is earmarked for hiring faculty and funding graduate student positions.
