Web-services owner banks on ranchers’ online needs – Cattle Catalogs

Cattle ranchers are very busy, Linda Gordon has found over the past few years as she has worked with people in the cattle industry. And although they are increasingly familiar with the Internet, livestock producers are not necessarily into computers or marketing.

Working with cattlemen and associations by producing catalogs for ranchers, she said she saw the need for them to be able to take all their marketing needs to one design house instead of to multiple service providers.

"These busy, busy guys are running all over," Gordon said.

With this in mind, she recently launched Cattle Catalogs, with a Web site at http://www.cattlecatalogs.com, as a division of Shop Montana Inc., her Web-services firm. Shop Montana started as a small Web-design company in 1997 and continues to provide online promotion for artisans, crafters and small businesses in Montana.

By going to a single provider, livestock producers can save the costs of duplicated design work for separate jobs. They get more consistency, look a little more professional and build brand recognition, Gordon said.
