Idaho Governor Kempthorne talks beef with Japan, hails Asian trade mission as success

Gov. Dirk Kempthorne said his recent two-week trade mission to five Asian cities to promote Idaho products was a success, and the delegation received red carpet treatment as it met with government officials and industry leaders.

A Twin Falls businesswoman, too, gave a positive report Wednesday.

The governor was joined by 65 representatives from 23 Idaho companies, state universities and agencies on stops in Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai and Taipei. Christy Eames, chief executive of Twin Falls-based recycling firm Hamilton Manufacturing Inc., attended four days of the mission on the Beijing leg.
