Tech Visionaries Offer Ideas for New Gadgets

These days, it seems, high-tech gear can do just about anything: Consumers can tote around their entire music collection in their pocket, use their cellphone to take pictures, or get TV recommendations from their TiVo.

But those on the frontiers of technology — as tinkerers, visionaries or observers — are never satisfied. They see the gadgets as they could be and ask why not.

We asked several tech innovators and trend spotters to talk about the technology or device that they’d like to see available in the future. Here’s a selection of their responses:
