Celebrating 50 Companies Building the Oregon Community
Entrepreneurs Foundation of the Northwest Celebrates Reaching the 50 Company Membership Mark with an Executive Reception
Six Oregon-based companies have recently shown their commitment to giving back to the community by joining the Entrepreneurs Foundation of the Northwest (EFNW), donating stock options in their respective companies to the growing Portland-based non-profit organization. The EFNW now boasts a membership of 50 companies. The EFNW will celebrate this achievement with a gala reception for CEOs and board members of participating companies tonight at OMSI.
Participating EFNW companies commit to donating stock options. In a future liquidity event, such as an acquisition or initial public offering, the proceeds from the sale of a company’s options will be donated to the company’s choice of local non-profit organizations. By donating stock options instead of cash to the EFNW, start-up companies can participate in community involvement programs in their early years, when their corporate identities and cultures are being formed, and conserve the time and funding required to do so.
