Tacoma Power joins an impressive list of organizations on NWETC’s Board of Directors; Washington Technology Center, BC Hydro, Pacific Northwest National Labs, Bonneville Power Administration, Puget Sound Energy, Washington State’s Community Trade and Economic Development office, and Avista Labs.

Washington Energy Technology Companies Enroute to China
Energy Technology Companies can explore business development opportunites during a weeklong business development mission to China in June. This mission, organized by Washington State’s Community, Trade and Economic Development Office (CTED), is ideal for new companies seeking to learn more about China’s potential as well as those who are looking to expand their sales. Washington Wins $70k EPA Funds for Cross-border Bio-diesel Project

NWETC was awarded an initial $70k grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to implement a bi-national Bio-Diesel demonstration project between BC Hydro and Puget Sound Energy called BIO-49′. Four bio-diesel processors purchased from a start-up bio-diesel processor manufacturer based in Bellingham will placed at colleges on both sides of the border and incorporates into existing fuel/auto programs. The bio-diesel produced will be used by the utilities in a variety of blends to prove that bio-diesel can be used in mission critical business lines. Results of the project can be monitored on the NWETC web site and will be presented in several utility trade publications. The project fulfills several of the missions under NWETC’s business plan to accelerate the growth of new energy technologies.
