Boise-area Tech startup group invites new members tonight (Thursday) – Kickstand

Kickstand http://www.kickstand.org/ , an informal network of people working in Boise-area technology companies, will have its monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. tonight. The group’s volunteer organizers say anyone can attend, but they target technology entrepreneurs and those working in tech-related startup companies.

Rick Ritter, director of technology outreach for the Technology and Entrepreneurial Center http://www.bsutecenter.com/ at Boise State University’s west campus, will speak on the topic "What’s Inside My Entrepreneur Toolbox," Kickstand board member Chris Volk said.

The group counts some 600 people among its membership but meetings typically range from 60 to 100 attendees, Volk said.

Who: "If you are a technology entrepreneur, a high-tech start-up or an emerging technology business, Kickstand was created for you," the group says.

Where: Ha’Penny Bridge Irish Pub, 855 Broad St., 8th Street Marketplace, Boise.

When: 5:30 to 7 p.m.; guest speaker at 6 p.m.

Why: Network, brainstorm, socialize and circulate.

Cost: Kickstand recently started charging a $20 annual membership fee. Meetings include light refreshments.
