President Geoff Gamble vows to take MSU to new level
Montana State University is finishing a year full of successes and is ready to embark on its largest-ever fund-raising campaign, President Geoff Gamble said Tuesday.
"It’s time to take the university to a new level," Gamble told a crowd of about 100, mainly faculty and staff, who came to hear his annual spring address at the Strand Union Building.
Gamble sketched out a major capital campaign that will ask private donors to help raise around $20 million to expand the Museum of the Rockies, another $20 million for Bobcat athletics and $100 million, or perhaps "a bit more," for scholarships, endowed professorships and for jump-starting the university.
It may take seven years, he said, but the success of MSU’s fund-raising campaign for scholarships — which has raised nearly $20 million — shows that MSU is ready for the challenge.
"There are great things on the horizon for us," Gamble said.
