The Blackfeet Indian Tribe to build casino in Browning, MT

The Blackfeet Indian Tribe is preparing to build a $3.5 million casino here and expects its potential six-figure payouts to draw some of the tourists who cross the Blackfeet reservation to visit Glacier National Park.

The tribe, which already operates a bingo hall in Browning and a casino in Cut Bank, expects the new casino to create at least 40 jobs. Construction is planned for the spring, with the casino opening this summer or fall.

Plans for the 22,000-square-foot building include 250 electronic bingo machines, a traditional bingo hall doubling as a conference room, and a restaurant. The site is between the Museum of the Plains Indian and the Stampede Park horse-race track. The casino’s design includes a balcony overlooking the track.
