Peter Babin resigned Friday as president and chief executive officer of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana – Former Georgia Blue Cross official takes Montana post

Peter Babin resigned Friday as president and chief executive officer of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana, the state’s largest health insurer, company officials said.

Babin’s resignation comes following a barrage of criticism about his $1.4 million salary and benefits package, which was disclosed this fall, and disagreements with the board of directors over the company’s financial direction. His resignation is effective immediately and has been accepted by board members, Blue Cross Blue Shield spokeswoman Linda McGillen said.
