TechRanch (Bozeman, MT) Graduates Three New Technology Companies in 2004

TechRanch announced today that it is graduating three more companies from its business incubator program in 2004.

TEXBase http://www.TEXbase.com/ , Nervonix http://www.nervonix.com/ and Envirozyme http://www.envirozyme.com/ have reached significant growth milestones making them sustainable, new technology companies in Southwest Montana. The graduates’ technology solutions are representative of three exciting and growing technology industries in Montana – software, agriculture/bioscience and medical devices.

The three companies will be honored with an award at a ceremony Thursday evening, December 16, 2004.

Their software has been sold in five countries to Fortune 500 companies. Envirozyme was started as a partnership between MSU, TechRanch and TechLink has patented an enhanced plant protein to substitute for fishmeal in freshwater and marine aquaculture diets. In December, Envirozyme was awarded a National Science Foundation Phase II SBIR for $500,000 to catalyze its important R&D and commercialization efforts.

“This graduating class represents not only the diversity of technology businesses that can thrive in Montana, but also the range of intellectually stimulating and rewarding careers available to Montanans,” said TechRanch executive director, John O’Donnell. “We’ll continue to work with these companies as ‘post-graduates’ with our educational programs, world-class business consulting and if need be take them to the next level with access to early stage investors.”

Executives from TransAria, Right Now Technologies, LigoCyte will be attendance, along with MSU leaders Tom McCoy, VP of Research and Rich Semenik, Dean of the College of Business to celebrate the milestones of these three companies and the progress TechRanch has made in development a technology economy in Montana. All three congressional leaders will be represented and have written letters of congratulations to TechRanch and its graduating companies.

Collectively, this year’s graduates will create between 10-25 new technology careers in the Bozeman area in the next several years. Two of the three companies have strong ties to Montana State University, for which TechRanch serves a commercialization partner.

TechRanch graduates three new companies
