MultiBand Merges Into TransAria

MultiBand Communications, a Bozeman based broadband company, has merged into TransAria (formerly Cutthroat Communications, Inc.), a Bozeman based telecom company. The merger, in addition to increasing TransAria’s size, augments the current TransAria network with wireless and DSL network facilities and strengthens the TransAria workforce with MultiBand’s management and technical personnel.

“We are excited over this merger,” said Jeff Marlow, CEO of TransAria. “It greatly increases our competitive position in Bozeman and Missoula – two markets in which both companies have already experienced success. We can now address a broader base of customers with a wider array of services.” Marlow added, “The merger also makes TransAria a financially stronger organization, leveraging network synergies and eliminating costs of duplicate facilities of the combined companies.”

The integration of the two companies is already underway. All MultiBand employees will immediately be combined with TransAria’s workforce, enhancing the employee talent pool that already exists. Roger Lang, TransAria’s Chairman, commented, “I’m delighted that we can better serve TransAria’s customers by adding such a talented team to our mix. Also, the joining of our networked solutions bodes well for Southwest Montana’s regional economic development, as well as for professional lifestyle choices such as working from home.”

In addition, MultiBand’s customers are immediately being notified of the transaction in order to alleviate any concerns over their existing service. “We want to make sure that our customers are taken care of during this transition,” commented Eric Rublein, MultiBand’s CEO. “It’s our intent to make the transition as transparent and as seamless as possible for them.” Rublein will fill the position of Vice President of Market Development at TransAria.

The addition of MultiBand represents the second merger in approximately a year for TransAria. Alaska Wireless Cable in Fairbanks was TransAria’s first merger, which also represented the company’s entry into its first market outside of Montana.
